DUSHANBE, February 10, Asia-Plus – An operation carried out by police officers in the Vose district (Khatlon province) on February 7 led to the arrest of the 23-year-old resident of the Hamadoni district (Khatlon) province, Khurshed Nasimov.
The Interior Ministry’s website reports 84.050 kilograms of raw opium and 1.950 kilograms of heroin were found hidden in his Niva.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against the alleged drug trafficker and an investigation is under way.
On the same day, the 30-year-old resident of the northern city of Chkalovsk (Sughd province), Aziz Karimov was detained on suspicion of drug pushing. A package of narcotic drug that tested positive to heroin weighing 315 grams was confiscated from him.
Criminal proceedings have been instituted against Karimov and an investigation is under way.
