DUSHANBE, August 3, 2011, Asia-Plus -- First Deputy Prime Minister of Tajikistan, Asadullo Ghulomov, died suddenly in Dushanbe today, aged 57.
A reliable source in the government says Asadullo Ghulomov was traveling by helicopter to the site for construction of the Sangtuda-2 hydroelectric power plant (HPP) when he felt himself unwell.
Asadullo Ghulomov was taken to hospital in Dushanbe in serious condition. He was diagnosed as having suffered a stroke. Asadullo Ghulomov died today afternoon.
Born on February 28, 1954, Asadullo Ghulomov received his early education in Danghara district before graduating in 1976 from Tajik Technical Institute. In 2005, he took training course at Russia’s Public Management Academy in Moscow.
In 1995-2000, Asadullo Ghulomov was deputy head of the state-controlled construction company, Tojiksokhtmon. In 2000-22003, he was chairman of Dushanbe’s Sino district. In 2003-2006, Asadullo Ghulomov served as Deputy Prime Minister. He had served as First Deputy Prime Minister since December 2006.
