IOM organized the return of 300 citizens to Tajikistan.

International Organization for Migration - The United Nations Migration Agency (IOM) and the government of Tajikistan have jointly facilitated the return of 300 Tajik migrants stranded at the border between Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.

New group of Tajik migrants returned on September 17. This operation was made possible by the joint efforts of the Government of Tajikistan in cooperation with the governments of Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan and coordinated by IOM missions in three countries with financial support from the Kingdom of Norway.

Earlier, another group of 300 people was also returned to their homeland through the efforts of the IOM.

After the introduction of quarantine measures, IOM facilitated the return of about 2,500 Tajik migrants from Kazakhstan through Uzbekistan to Tajikistan. Among them, women and children, labor migrants and students who got stuck at the border point "Zhibek Zholy" on the border of Kazakhstan with Uzbekistan.
